So, you're interested in being an ASBC Village Facilitator?

A Village facilitator loves God and God's people! We need energetic and caring disciples to facilitate each of our Village groups in studying God’s Word. As a group facilitator you will guide your Village in weekly vibrant discussions and activities designed to unpack powerful sermons from the Alfred Street pulpit. For 10 weeks you’ll help foster a sense of community, allowing conversation and spiritual growth to flourish.

Village Commitment

I prayerfully commit to being an active and engaged Village member. I’m seeking to grow in Christ and community and I pledge to take every step necessary to make this journey possible. I will make every effort to attend all Village gatherings understanding that my Village experience will be as great as my level of commitment. In consideration for the opportunity to participate in the Alfred Street Baptist Church Events, the Participant acknowledges and accepts the risks of injury associated with participation in the activity. The Participant accepts personal financial responsibility for any injury sustained during the activity. Further, the Participant promises to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the activity sponsor or its agents, employees, volunteers, or any other representatives (collectively referred to hereinafter as the "Sponsor") for any injury related directly or indirectly out of the described activity, whether such injury arises out of the negligence of the Sponsor or otherwise. If a dispute over this agreement or any claim for damages arises, the Participant agrees to resolve the matter through a mutually acceptable alternative dispute resolution process. If the Participant and the Sponsor cannot agree upon such a process, the dispute will be submitted to a three-member arbitration panel of the American Arbitration Association for final resolution.

In addition to the main Village Covenant, as a Village at ASBC HOST OR FACILITATOR I also commit to:

  1. Review and be familiar with Village training materials and methods for contacting the Village Leadership Team (VLT).
  2. Keep the VLT informed of any significant changes or events in the life of my Village.  This includes but is not limited to: (a) changes in the number of participants in my Village; (b) changes in participant contact information;  (c) changes in meeting times or days; (d) group disbandment or discontinuation; (e) problems with receiving communications or materials from the VLT; (f) notification of major life events or concerns involving Villagers where referrals to ASBC support resources may be appropriate. When I am in doubt about the necessity for contacting the VLT about any issue, I will err on the side of reaching out to the VLT at village@alfredstreet.org
  3. Identify and help mentor future hosts and facilitators.
  4. Only using the ASBC weekly curriculum guide provided by the Village at ASBC Curriculum Team to conduct Village gatherings.
  5. Help communicate Village and church-wide initiatives to my Village when needed.
  6. Continually growing as a leader
